What a coating is
Wax sits on top. Coating bonds to the paint.
Wax lasts a few weeks and washes off. A ceramic coating chemically bonds to the clear coat and becomes a hard, slick surface that lasts years. Rain sheets off instead of sitting in spots. Bugs and road grime rinse away instead of needing a scrub. And because the surface is harder and slicker, your paint picks up fewer wash marks over its life.

The part most shops skip
A coating locks in whatever is underneath it.
This is the single most important thing to understand about ceramic coating: it is clear and it is hard, so every swirl, every scratch, and every water spot in your paint gets sealed in under it for years. Coating over damaged paint makes the damage permanent and shiny.
That is why every coating I do starts with paint correction. If your paint is not right, we fix it first or I will tell you the coating is not worth doing yet. I would rather talk you out of a job than seal your swirls in.
What a coating will not do
- It will not stop rock chips — that is paint protection film
- It will not remove existing swirls or scratches
- It does not make the car scratch-proof or wash-proof
- It does not mean you never wash the car again — it means washing gets easy
How your coating gets done
Days, not hours.
A proper coating is mostly preparation. The coating itself goes on near the end, and then it has to cure before the car goes back outside.
Deep wash and decontamination
Iron fallout, tar, and bonded contamination pulled off the paint. Clay where it is needed.
Paint inspected under proper light
Swirls and defects only show under the right lighting. I go panel by panel and show you what I find.
Paint correction
Machine polishing to remove defects rather than fill them. How many stages depends on the condition.
Panel wipe
Every trace of polishing oil removed so the coating bonds to bare clear coat instead of residue.
Coating applied and leveled
Applied panel by panel and leveled at the right moment. Rushed here means high spots you can see forever.
Cure time indoors
The coating hardens inside before the vehicle sees weather. Then I explain exactly how to wash it.
